‘Southgate’ confirms Smith Rowe has a chance to win the Lions Stadium

Gareth Southgate has confirmed that Emile Smith Rowe is in contention. To make his England debut in the final two World Cup qualifiers against Albania and San Marino.

England have been plagued by injury problems and Smith Rowe. Is in contention to make his debut against Albania tomorrow (Friday).

The”Roaring Lions” need just one more point from their last two qualifying games to Tickets to the World Cup next year.  By the end of the game against Albania, they will meet San. Marino was the last team on Monday.

Asked if the 20-year-old would be given a chance to make his debut. Southgate replied: “We called him up with the view to having him involved in those two games.”

“He has adapted very well. Of course he knows some of the players who were for the club, Phil Foden, who used to play for the Under-17s. Together, and this squad welcomes young players and newcomers very well.”

“He showed his quality through training. So he’s ready. We are delighted that he is joining us to train with us this week.”

The England boss said on Smith Rowe: “We brought him here to be involved with the team with the view to being involved in the team matches.

“He’s settled really well. I think he obviously knows a couple of his club team-mates. Phil (Foden) from when he was in the Under-17s as well.

“This is a group that makes new players and young players really welcome so I don’t think it’s a difficult environment to fit in.

“His quality has been apparent, in the way that he’s trained so he’s ready and we’ve enjoyed having him with us this week already.”
