Wolves have completed the signing of Crystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnston for £10m.
Wolves were keen to sign a new goalkeeper and had previously identified Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale but his asking price was too high, leading them to look to sign Johnston instead. The
31-year-old will join the Wolves for £10m on a four-year deal with the option of a further year.
Johnston came through the Manchester United youth system and after a number of loan spells, he has since joined West Brom on a permanent basis.
He has been a regular for West Brom and helped them secure promotion to the Premier League, and although they failed to secure top-flight survival, he was still voted the ufabet http://ufabet999.app club’s Player of the Year that year.
Johnston also earned his first England cap while playing for the Owls and was part of the squad that reached the Euro 2020 final.
He has been at Palace for the last two seasons and was a regular in goal until suffering from calf and shoulder injuries last season. This resulted in him missing out on England’s Euro 2020 squad.
However, he brings with him a wealth of experience, having made over 350 appearances for the goalkeeper throughout his career.
